This branch believes that trade unions will be crucial for mitigating the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on staff, and that workers’ leverage is built on deep branch-level organisation.

This branch aims to counter any threats to erode our working conditions or job security, such as extended hiring freezes, delays in sabbatical leave, the suspension of promotion and pay progression schemes, pay freezes, voluntary pay reductions, and redundancies.

This branch therefore instructs the Executive Committee to organise a unionisation drive, in order to increase branch membership and engagement, with the aim of strengthening our capabilities for future successful campaigns and periods of industrial action, locally and nationally.
