Committee Positions

Elections are held for committee positions in Easter Term each year, but we welcome expressions of interest in joining the committee throughout the year, get in touch.

Working Groups

CUCU have a number of working groups looking at different campaigning areas. Thee are made up or ordinary members who are looking for a way to make a difference in their workplaces. Take a look at the working groups for more information.

Become a Rep or Contact

Cambridge UCU has a network of Reps in departments and workplaces across the University. Reps are the main point of contact between Cambridge UCU and your workplace. They can support members locally and may run local get togethers to talk about issues and circulate information. We are always looking for new reps to get involved.

Join our casework team

Our caseworkers are highly-valued union members who provide support on a voluntary basis to fellow members facing problems at work. This advice and support is one of the most important and basic forms of solidarity that the union provides, and offering it can be hugely rewarding. Casework also gives us a sense of what’s going wrong in a workplace and how we can change it. So it’s an important starting point for collective action to improve working conditions at our university. We have a small team of caseworkers and are looking for more members to get involved.

Get in touch to find out more, with no pressure to take on a case. Should you decide casework is for you, we run local training session and there are further training sessions run  by national UCU. We can arrange for you to shadow an experience caseworker or be shadowed until you feel comfortable, and have a network of other caseworkers you can lean on for support.

Volunteer!

CUCU is a community of members which is at its best when people get involved. If you think you have even a small amount of time to contribute to anything – social media, marketing, department rep, etc – please get in touch.
